Ahsoka Season 2 and Everything You Need to Know About the Mortis Gods
Baylan is shown at the end of Ahsoka, standing in front of sculptures on Peridea. The father and the son are the two complete statues. The third statue is supposed to be the Daughter, but we can't be sure because its head is gone.
Everything you need to know about the Mortis Gods and how Ahsoka season 2 might be related is provided here.
The Force is embodied in the Mortis Gods, also called the Ones. The father symbolizes the harmony between the two, the daughter the light side, and the sun the dark side.
"Overlords," episode 15 of Clone Wars season 3, is where they debuted. The Father drew Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan to the planet Mortis, where he lived with his family. He believed Anakin was the Chosen One, able to maintain balance between light and dark forces and defeat the Sith. When Anakin reached Mortis, the Father asked him to stay to keep the force balanced and warned him of the consequences if he left.
When Anakin refused, the Son abducted Ahsoka before they could depart. The Daughter then leapt in front of the Son, giving her life in exchange for the Father's, stopping his attempt to murder him. But then the Daughter gave Ahsoka her life essence by using her powers.
The Son temporarily tempted Anakin to the dark side, but the Father erased Anakin's memories. They fought the Son together. The Father sacrificed himself and the planet by stabbing himself with the Dagger of Mortis. This allowed Anakin to defeat the Son and save the galaxy.
Although everyone believed it to be the end of the star wars Mortis Gods, we see a depiction of them in Rebels on the wall of a Jedi temple. Using the might of the Mortis gods and this temple, Ezra enters the World between Worlds (as demonstrated by Ahsoka).
Who the Mortis Gods are at this point is unknown. Given his enormous power, his ability to enter the World between worlds, and the fact that the Father initially selected Anakin as his predecessor, some have conjectured that Anakin is the next Father.
Furthermore, Anakin did restore balance to the force after Return of the Jedi by giving his life. Like the Father, Anakin gave his life to keep his kid alive.
Ahsoka the Daughter received special powers during the Clone Wars and often sees Morai, the Daughter's owl. This leads many people to believe in Ahsoka's connection to the Daughter. Some whispers have also suggested that Baylan is the Son; however, this is mainly based on circumstantial evidence.
What does this all signify for the second season of Ahsoka? The writers wanted the Mortis Gods to play a significant role in Baylan Skoll's story. However, it is uncertain if they will continue this storyline after Ray Stevenson has died.
We hope someone will resolve these unresolved issues because the plot of Ahsoka is too compelling to end without them. A second season of the show has yet to be formally confirmed.
