Yellow Lightsaber Lore and History

Lightsaber colors can vary and more may be introduced in the future. However, the different shades do not appear in equal amounts. Red lightsabres from the Sith and blue lightsabers from the Jedi are frequently seen. Luke Skywalker's saber's colour, green, also occurs frequently.

However, if you go past those regularly recurring hues, you enter some obscure realms of Star Wars mythology. A yellow lightsaber fills one of these forgotten spaces. This type of sabre has a hint of mystery because not all of its history is known, and the blade colour is rather unusual. This text discusses the yellow lightsaber from Star Wars and explains why it could be a great addition to your collection of weapons.

Yellow Lightsabers and the Jedi Sentinel

A yellow lightsaber, who uses it? The Jedi Sentinel is most frequently connected—though not exclusively—with a Jedi brandishing a yellow lightsaber. More on that later.

The Sentinels are a group in the Jedi Order that act as a bridge between the Consulars and the Guardians. Sentinels combined the best of both worlds, Consulars focused on diplomacy, and Guardians trained to be the best fighters.

They also tried to learn useful skills outside the scope of the Force. Sentinels, for example, frequently developed into skilled technicians, trackers, and spies. They realised that only some issues they would encounter could be resolved by the Force.

Sentinels can perform various tasks. The Jedi Temple Guard is a secret security team.

It is their most well-known role. Sentinels in this duty equipped themselves with yellow double-bladed lightsaber pikes to help protect the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. The impressive pikes belonged to the position, not the individual guards. They were used for specific duties and were not seen as personal items of the guards.

Other Yellow Sightings

The Jedi Temple Guard is linked to the yellow lightsaber, which has been found in various places. Asajj Ventress, a bounty hunter, is said to have seen a yellow lightsaber for sale on the underground market. She used it skilfully for the rest of her life.

Ventress's weapon appeared to be a regular lightsaber, not the Jedi Temple Guard's double-bladed pikes. Where it came from and how it got onto the illegal market is still unknown.

During the Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano is said to have used a yellow lightsabre and a green one.

The Acolyte's Yard Fandar likewise wielded a lightsaber with a yellow blade.

Why the Yellow Lightsaber Is So Uncommon

It's rare to see yellow lightsaber wielders in the Star Wars world. The Jedi Sentinel's scarcity contributes to some of its rarity. There are few Sentinels, and they often focus on non-combat tasks, leaving them little chance to use their sabers in battle. When a yellow lightsaber does arise, though, the person on the receiving end is likely in for a rough time.
