Asajj Ventress's Lightsabers

Throughout her journey, Asajj Ventress used multiple lightsabers, each symbolizing a different stage of her existence.

When Ventress was a Padawan, she used a green lightsaber. Later, when she worked for the Sith Lord Count Dooku, whose weapon also had a similar hilt design, she utilized two red lightsabers with curved handles. After losing her red lightsaber in a battle with Barriss Offee in the basement levels of Coruscant, Ventress was forced to acquire a new yellow one.

The Green Lightsaber: A Jedi Padawan's Weapon

When Ventress was a Jedi Padawan being trained by Master Ky Narec, she wielded a green-bladed lightsaber, which was her first lightsaber, as disclosed in a Season 3 episode of the animated series "The Clone Wars."

Unfortunately, Ventress was left orphaned and adrift after Weequay pirates killed Master Narec. In her moment of rage and grief, she took up both her own and Narec's green lightsabers and used them to avenge the warlords who had plagued the war-torn world of Rattatak by killing twelve of them.

The green lightsaber that Ventress had kept as a reminder of her Jedi ancestry was eventually abandoned after this violent act, which was her first step toward the dark side.

The Twin Red Lightsabers: Falling to the Dark Side

Count Dooku, the former Jedi Master who had turned into a Sith Lord and the head of the Separatist movement, hired Ventress after she had fallen to the dark side. Dooku gave her a pair of red-bladed lightsabers, which were curved-hilt weapons that had once belonged to one of his former Padawan's. When Ventress joined him as his assassin and covert apprentice, he gave them to her.

The curved hilts of her new red Sith lightsabers resembled her lord Dooku's lightsaber, a testament to their twisted master-student link. Their deep red glow revealed her new evil force ties, marking a stark shift from her previous green blade.

In the Clone Wars, Ventress proved to be a skilled fighter with the twin red lightsabers, defeating numerous opponents, including Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, whom she battled to a halt. She was able to utilize the lightsabers individually or combine them to create a lethal S-shaped double-bladed lightsaber that provided her an advantage.

Barriss Offee took the lightsabers to blame Ahsoka Tano for the Jedi Temple hangar explosion, but Ventress lost them when Dooku defied her at the behest of his lord, Darth Sidious.

The Yellow Lightsaber: A New Path as a Bounty Hunter

Upon her return in "Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3," Asajj Ventress is armed with a lightsaber with a yellow blade.

Ventress felt adrift and in quest of a new identity and purpose after Dooku betrayed her and she lost her red lightsabers. It was during this time that she used the black market to acquire a new lightsaber with a yellow blade.

The yellow blade on the Ventress came from a cylindrical hilt, with the switch located directly over the grill hilt. The remainder of the hilt covered the blade emitter and the power cell beneath the ridged grip at the base.

The lightsaber's upper part, which constituted roughly three-fifths of the hilt, was composed of perforated metal, exposing the inner blade pieces. The bottom of the hilt had a conventional grip that was ridged and completely closed off to protect the power cell. Nevertheless, neither the weapon's operation nor its susceptibility to moisture were jeopardized.
