Boba Fett's Action Figure Is Now The Most Expensive In A Galaxy Far, Far Away

At an auction, a scarce Star Wars Boba Fett action figure brought $525,000, making it the most valuable toy in the world. According to the most recent sources, these were the only two figures of their sort left.

In 1979, Kenner developed it shortly before the debut of "The Empire Strikes Back," which would include Boba Fett. It was hand-painted, and missiles were launched from a jetpack. However, it was never made public because of safety concerns.

This toy's concept was the figurine, originally intended to be sent as marketing collateral for consumers purchasing other Star Wars-related toys.

The Sale Of A Lifetime

A single Barbie doll with a one-carat diamond sold for $302,000 in 2010, setting a record price that was greatly surpassed by this elusive Boba Fett figure, which was acquired through Heritage Auctions. Additionally, the rocket-firing Boba Fett action figure from the Star Wars franchise, which sold for $236,000, was eclipsed by this event.

"The Boba Fett action figure with firing rocket was a mythic icon that became so legendary that people around the world had heard of it even if they don't collect," stated Joe Maddalena, Executive Vice President of Heritage Auctions, in the most recent Post.

"We thought this could be a record breaker, and watching it become the most valuable toy was exciting," he continued.

Additional rare Star Wars memorabilia included Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, another Boba Fett figure, and an early third draft of George Lucas's first Star Wars film, which was then titled The Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Starkiller. The auction was held in Texas on May 31. The more than 1,500 bidders spent a total of $1,662,000.

The purchaser of the pricey Boba Fett toy would rather remain anonymous. This sale demonstrates the popularity of Star Wars items even now.

I hope the force is on your side!
