Fans are drawn to him in part because Kylo Ren's lightsaber differs from conventional Jedi or Sith weapons due to its cross-guard design. Kylo Ren's lightsaber form is an aggressive, unrelenting style that displays his raw power and passion, reflecting his combustible personality both in his saber and his combat skill.

Ren has generated much discussion among fans as a former Jedi apprentice who rose to become the Supreme Leader of the First Order and the dreaded master of the Knights of Ren before ultimately turning against the Dark Side. Much of this discussion has focused on his loyalties, unique fighting style, and preference for cross-guard lightsabers. The Story of Kylo Ren's Lightsaber Hilt

Although many people may have never seen it before, Ren's cross-guard lightsaber is not a novel sight. Its design, which was developed thousands of years before he was born, is based on a quillon, which is a secondary blade that protrudes from the top of the hilt at 90-degree angles.

The cross-guard lightsaber initially appears in the Great Scourge of Malachor, a notorious pre-Cold War conflict between the Jedi Order and the Sith Empire in which all of the fighters on both sides were killed. During an expedition led by Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, and Ahsoka Tano, their petrified bodies and a worn-out cross-guard saber were found thousands of years later.

Nonetheless, Kylo's lightsaber does include a distinctive feature. An unstable cyber gem powers the saber's strangely "ragged" blade. The quillons are mainly used to serve as release vents to control the plasma blade, which is explained by the crystal's instability. Additionally, the quillons shield Ren's hand in battle.

Kylo Ren did not consider his lightsaber blade's instability a flaw; instead, he appears to have valued it a great deal because of it. Kylo spent his years as a Dark Side servant with his saber by his side. Only when he decided to return to the Jedi cause and take back his given name, Ben Solo, did he drop his saber.

Which sort of lightsaber does Kylo Ren wield? Like his unconventional saber, Kylo Ren's approach defies convention among the seven standard lightsaber dueling forms. Despite being unconventional, Kylo Ren's lightsaber form is regarded as a follower of Form V, namely the Djem So variety. Ren's intense combat style is characterized by Djem So, which requires a great deal of strength and quickness to carry out a barrage of assaults and counterattacks. An additional feature of the Form V master is his skill in deflecting blaster fire. This ferocious form has developed over time within the history of lightsaber battles and has strong roots in both Jedi and Sith traditions.

Indeed, Ren occasionally used strategies that are more frequently linked to other kinds. He occasionally used the Form VI Niman practitioner's trick, for example, to summon the Force to drag or push opponents into positions that would make an assault easier.
