The Acolyte Introduces Legendary Lightsaber Weapon in Live-Action After 39 Years
In the exciting sixth episode of The Acolyte, Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh wields one of the fabled lightsabers. In the series, Rwoh engages in a thrilling fight with an Umbramoth, a gigantic insect-like creature with a lightsaber whip, which examines the fallout from a confrontation between the Jedi and Qimir.
In the most recent episode, Sol is on a secluded island looking into an enigmatic threat. He communicates, hoping that Vernestra Rwoh or Mog will arrive to help him if necessary. Rwoh promptly gathers a squad to save him, but they are shocked that Sol's whole team has disappeared due to lightsaber strikes.
This clip premieres one of the most anticipated lightsabers in live-action. It shows Rwoh using her light whip against Umbramoth.
What is Lightwhip in Star Wars?
In 1985, Mary Jo Duffy and Cynthia Martin debuted the lightship in Marvel's Star Wars Comics issue 95. The Dark Lady of the Sith, Lumiya, used it after being instructed in Sith practices by Darth Vader.
Unlike conventional lightsabers, the lightship's blade is fueled by several tiny kyber crystals, giving it greater flexibility and longevity. They are also far more challenging to learn than conventional lightsabers.
Along with her regular sword, Star Wars Sith Lord Githany, who regarded herself as the Darth Bane apprentice, also wielded it, in addition to Lumiya in the past and Rwoh currently.
Obi-Wan Kenobi gives a specially designed light whip to Silri (a Nightsister) and Kit Fisto, two more Force users, in Steven Barnes' 2004 book The Cestus Deception.
