Biography & What is Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka Tano was reared by her parents, Pav-Ti and Nak-il Tano, after being born on the planet Shili. She showed a tremendous talent for the force at an early age. Raised on Coruscant, she was initiated into the Jedi Order by Master Plo Koon when she was quite young. Ahsoka was given the title of Padawan at 14 and started training under Anakin Skywalker. Despite having a difficult beginning, Anakin and Ahsoka quickly became a formidable team in the Clone Wars. Ahsoka fought with the 501st battalion's Clone Captain Rex as well. She led clone battalions despite her youth, and despite her blunders, she served them well and won their respect. Ahsoka developed into a fantastic leader as the conflict went on. She picked up knowledge from the greatest, including Padmé Amidala and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Despite her occasional errors, she was a valuable member of the Republican army.
When Ahsoka was set up for the Jedi Temple explosion, her destiny drastically changed. Despite her valiant attempts to clear her record, Ahsoka was apprehended, her Padawan status revoked, and she was banished from the Jedi Order. Ahsoka finally had her name cleared, but she had lost trust in the Jedi Order, so when she was offered to return, she turned it down, choosing to go on her own.
Ahsoka spent some time assisting needy people while in the Coruscant underworld. Eventually, though, she ran with Bo-Katan Kryze, who requested her assistance destroying the Mandalore-based Sith Lord Darth Maul. After offering assistance, Ahsoka reunited with her former comrade and master, Anakin. Ahsoka was prepared to battle to preserve Mandalore with Captain Rex and the 501st at her side after Anakin gave her back her lightsabers.
After Ahsoka and the 501st ultimately took Maul, prisoner, they made the decision to return to Coruscant and present him to the Jedi Council. Darth Sidious carried out Order 66 during their journey to Coruscant, which led all clones to turn against and murder their Jedi Masters. Rex defied the order after Ahsoka took away his inhibitor chip with the assistance of some droids. The two of them managed to flee just in time to see Maul blow up the ship they were on and cause it to crash on a nearby moon. After the collision, Ahsoka and Rex went back to the moon to bury their friends, who had all perished. After losing, Ahsoka left her swords at her dead allies' graves.
Following the events of Order 66, Ahsoka went into hiding and assumed the alias Ashla while residing on a farm. The Inquisitors knocked on Ahsoka's door after a mishap forced her to expose her Jedi powers. She got away with Bail Organa's assistance and consented to join the insurrection using the secret name Fulcrum. She used Sith Kyber crystals that had been cleaned to rebuild her lightsabers, giving them their distinctive white hue. She collaborated closely with the Ghost's crew while she was a member of the insurrection. Ahsoka eventually learned the truth about Anakin Skywalker's fate. At the Sith Temple on Malachor, the former padawan eventually engaged in combat with her former teacher. Many believed she was lost because she was on the verge of death. Fortunately, Ahsoka Tano was spared from that potentially fatal duel by Ezra Bridger, who pulled her out of the World Between Worlds through an enigmatic gateway just in time to see the temple collapse around Tano and Vader.
Ahsoka carried on fighting for the greater good even after the Empire collapsed. In an attempt to locate the notorious Admiral Thrawn, she went in pursuit of Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth. She encountered Grogu and Din Djarin and assisted them in locating Grogu, a Jedi Master. She also briefly attended the Jedi Academy, which Luke Skywalker constructed on Ossus. Ahsoka taught Sabine Wren the teachings of the Jedi Order for a while before abandoning her student because she thought her rage over Mandalore's devastation would turn her dangerous.
But despite everything, Ahsoka's primary objective was to track down and destroy Admiral Thrawn so he would never again torment the galaxy. Ahsoka took a Star Map to her former Padawan Sabine to decode it after discovering it led to Thrawn. Even though Sabine succeeded in deciphering the ancient Star Map, Shin Hati—employed by Morgan Elsbeth—took it to restore Thrawn's authority. After locating Elsebeth and her crew, Ahsoka and Sabine engaged in combat across the Star Map. In this combat, Ahsoka was defeated and sent flying off a cliff. Despite her anguish, Sabine consented to accompany Elsebeth and her team to find Thrawn if she could rescue her longtime friend Ezra Bridger.
Anakin Skywalker awaited Ahsoka as she awoke in the World Between Worlds, determined to give her one more lesson. General Hera protected her as she departed the World Between Worlds, and she later journeyed to rescue Sabine from Elsebeth's crew. She was reunited with Ezra and Sabine. Tano was stranded with her apprentice and a severely damaged ship after Grand Admiral Thrawn and his allies, the Great Mothers, managed to leave despite their best efforts to stop them.
Her Lightsabers
Ahsoka Tano possessed a shoto, a shorter saber, and a regular-size lightsaber. They are both single-bladed sabers. Ahsoka uses a reverse grip when dual-wielding in the Jar'Kai fighting technique. Her sabers were originally green, but Anakin tampered with them after she left the Jedi Order, making them blue. Until the conclusion of the Clone Wars, she used her blue sabers, leaving them at the graves of her fallen allies.
More than a year after the Clone Wars ended, Tano fashioned herself a new set of lightsabers, this time with curved hilts and white blades, using parts she had collected throughout her travels and kyber crystals she had recovered from the lightsaber of the Sixth Brother, an Imperial Inquisitor.
Lightsaber Form
Ahsoka employs the Shien, a modified version of Form 5 that uses two lightsabers. Form 5 is all about close-quarters, offensive fighting. Shein also uses a reverse grip, as shown in Ahsoka's technique.
